So I made one that isn’t
The Idea
Plain beige lampshades? Snooze. I wanted something bold and sculptural, so I decided to design my own.
The Creation
Getting there wasn’t easy. I battled overhangs, failed prints, and designs that looked cooler in my head than on the print bed. Each iteration brought me closer to the final form.
The Tools
Fusion360 for design. A trusty (and sometimes testy) 3D printer for bringing it to life. And plenty of trial and error in between.
The Final Product
The finished shade turned a basic IKEA lamp into a statement piece. Still practical, but with curves and texture that make it stand out. Definitely not boring anymore.
